On the very last day of june, the “Old Town Road” hitmaker revealed to the world via Twitter that he was gay.

According to the RAP UP, He referenced his song “C7osure (You Like)” off his debut EP 7 as confirmation, saying that he thought he had already made it clear.

“some of y’all already know, some of y’all don’t care, some of y’all not gone fwm no more. but before this month ends i want y’all to listen closely to ‘c7osure,’” he tweeted, along with the rainbow emoji, a symbol of the LGBTQ community.

“True say, I want and I need to let go, use my time to be free,” he sings on “C7osure.” “Ain’t no more actin’, man that forecast say I should just let me grow / No more red light for me baby, only green, I gotta go … Pack my past up in the back, oh, let my future take ahold / This is what I gotta do, can’t be regretting’ when I’m old.”

Later that day, Lil Nas X posted his cover art for his EP.

“deadass thought i made it obvious,” he wrote.

The rapper made this shocking decision after his surprise performance of “Old Town Road” with Miley and Billy Ray Cyrus at the Glastonbury festival in England on Sunday (June 30).
