In case you missed it, on March 16th Pink Elephant Radio Introduce Queer Hip-hop to Austin Texas.  For the first time in history, the SXSW Music Festival made room for talent with a twist. Out-Hip-Hop artist from all over the country tore up the stage while cheering fans got their life watching their LGBTQ+ brothers and sisters do their “thaaang”.

Some of the performers included Loud and Proud Out Artists like Bugz Gutta, DougTheeSavage, BobbyLytes, and Vockah Redu to name a few.  Though the crowd was smaller than some official SX shows, the significance of this first-of-its-kind event was not lost on the performers and attendees.  Songs like “A Letter from Bugz” performed by Newport News rapper Bugz Gutta reminded the audience of how much determination and perseverance goes into living in your truth while chasing your dreams.
