Hall of Fame College football coach George Welsh dies at 85

Football supporters across the nation woke up to some sadden new this morning. Hall of Fame coach George Welsh had passed. “He passed peacefully in the presence of his family,” In the early 90’s he became well respected after vaulting Virginia  Cavaliers into nationals. The Cavs were the country’s number one ranked team throughout the 90’s under Welsh guidance. Current Virginia coach Bronco Mendenhall tweeted his condolences early morning stating: “I am saddened to hear that Coach Welsh passed away this week. He was a true pioneer for UVA football and provided the model of success we are working hard to replicate. We will miss his frequent visits to the football offices.” as we can see his legacy lives on.
