J.Cole has done it once again.

The Dreamville rapper’s KOD album has officially sold more than 1 million units as of Dec.5, making this his third full project to go platinum without any features.

Now that’s the definition of self-made.

Chart Data confirmed the accolade Thursday, exactly eight months after KOD was released, and about seven months after it was certified gold.

The KOD album has been praised by fans and also critics.

The project addressed things like love, money , and addiction.

According to Complex, the 12-track album went on to break first-day streaming records on Apple Music and Spotify, and has also appeared on numerous year-end lists, including our own.

Surprisingly, despite the albums success, it didn’t receive a single 2019 grammy nomination.

Shocking huh?

Some suspect Cole simply chose not to submit the album, while others point to this year’s oversaturated market.

Artist such as Cardi B, Mac Miller, Nipsey Hussle, Pusha-T, and Travis Scott were all nominated for Best Rap Album of the Year.
Fans are shook to see that Cole’s KOD album was not in the running.
Complex reported that Though KOD isn’t up for any Grammy awards, Cole still has a chance to win. The rapper has been nominated for “Come Through and Chill” with Miguel (Best R&B Song) and “Pretty Little Fears” with 6lack (Best Rap/Sung Performance.)
