MAN ARRESTED AFTER ROBBING/KILLING A FRIEND

DECATUR, Ga. – Deputies in DeKalb County have arrested a teenager after they said he robbed his friend and then killed him.

On November 5, 2018, at an apartment building on the 1700 block of Weatherly Drive in Stone Mountain, 19-year-old Tucker resident Maleik Woods stole around $1,500 from Francisco Zapata using a semi-automatic handgun, who officials say was a friend of Woods.

After robbing Zapata, police say Woods shot Zapata in the chest, killing him.

deputies with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office arrested Woods at a business near Decatur three days later.

According to Fox5, Woods is currently in the DeKalb County Jail after being charged with felony murder and felony armed robbery.
